The Pakistan Cricket Board has suspended a training camp scheduled for Saturday in Lahore and also announcing the squad for the one-day series against Afghanistan next month in Sri Lanka. With the Taliban taking over the reins of Afghanistan and the country experiencing the worst crisis of the past two decades, the PCB wants confirmation from Afghanistan Cricket Board whether the series will continue and only then will they announce the squad. The series kicks off on September 3 in Hambantota in Sri Lanka, with the Sri Lankan board organizing the matches on behalf of the ACB.
The official said Afghan cricket authorities have yet to confirm when their players will leave Kabul for Colombo and also the schedule of the matches.
“Once they give us the full travel plans and itinerary of the series, we’ll have the camp and we’ll release our squad as well,” he said.
The ACB is said to be in talks with the Taliban authorities and US troops who control all flights to and from Kabul airport. A senior Afghan cricket official said they would soon receive the clearance and details on how and when their players will fly from Kabul to Colombo.

Pakistan is expected to rest senior players, including captain Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan and pacers, Hasan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi, for the series, the first bilateral series between the two countries.
The four senior players will be equipped to be fresh for the home series against New Zealand and England and the World T20 Cup in the UAE. Afghanistan is also one of the participating countries in WCT20.
