India opener KL Rahul on Friday said he was frustrated at missing out on a bigger hundred and taking the visitors to a stronger total in the second Test against England at the Holy Lord’s. Rahul (129) was able to add just two runs to his overnight score before walking back to the locker room to a huge round of applause. After playing a nice knock, Rahul was a soft dismissal as he drove straight to the cover fielder in the second delivery of the day bowled by Ollie Robinson.
“I always get frustrated when I finish and come out. Today’s morning was pivotal and I planned to add 70-80 runs in the morning session. I felt good, I was ready,” the stylish right-hander Karnataka said at the press conference after the second day of play.
“I’m frustrated I missed a juicy half volley.”
The game was evenly matched after the second day’s game, with England reaching 119 for three after hitting 45 overs, after knocking out India for 364 in their first innings.
Root hit at 48 and gave him company to Jonny Bairstow at 6.

Rahul said the plan would be for India to grab some early wickets on Saturday and gain the upper hand in the match.
“It is too early to predict. We are taking things as they come. Our plan is to take some wickets tomorrow. We have planned for every batsmen and we will stick to our plans,” he said.
