jaipur:
Anirudh Singh, son of Rajasthan Congress MLA Vishvendra Singh, who was fired as tourism minister last year over rebellion against Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot, has accused his father’s “core team” of threatening him.
“The threats are of an extremely serious nature… (they threaten) to cause all kinds of physical injuries to me and the people who accompany me,” Anirudh Singh said today in his complaint to Bharatpur, Chief Inspector of Police Devendra Kumar.
“The allegations in the complaint are under investigation… a decision on the registration of a case will be made accordingly,” Kumar said.
Vishvendra Singh, the MLA of Deeg-Kumher (Bharatpur), could not be reached for comment.
Anirudh Singh had tweeted against his father on a previous occasion.
Vishvendra Singh was one of 19 MLAs who revolted against Ashok Gehlot’s leadership in July last year, sparking a political crisis in the state.
Vishvendra Singh was the tourism minister at the time and was dismissed from the cabinet along with then-Deputy Prime Minister Sachin Pilot and the minister of food and civilian supplies, Ramesh Meena.
