The News Broadcasters Association (NBA), India’s largest association of news broadcasters, has decided to change its name to News Broadcasters and Digital Association (NBDA), a statement said.
“NBA is made up of the top-rated news channels in the country and controls more than 80 percent of the news television viewers in India. As the media landscape has changed dramatically due to technology, huge choices have become available to viewers to access content across various channels. media and digital appears to be the future, the NBA Board has decided to change the NBA name to NBDA to reflect the addition of digital media news channels as members,” the statement said.
“NBA has decided to bring digital media news channels under its jurisdiction. In the new phase, with the incorporation of digital media news channels, the NBA board has decided to change the name of the body from NBA to NBDA,” NBA Chairman Rajat Sharma said.
The News Broadcasters Association established an independent self-regulatory body 14 years ago, the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA). The NBA has established a proven grievance recovery system and process, the organization said.
