The lawyer representing the minor said she wants to go to Sabarimala before she turns 10
Kochi:
Kerala Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed an underage girl to accompany her father to Sabarimala for ‘darshan‘ (visit).
The court gave its approval in view of a similar order it passed in April this year and the state government’s order of August 4, which states that children may accompany vaccinated persons in all activities they engage in.
The order came on a plea from the underage girl, who is 9 years old, to ask for permission to accompany her father to Sabarimala when he goes there on August 23.
The lawyer representing the minor said she wants to go to Sabarimala before she turns 10 because she may not be able to visit the shrine for more than four decades.
“We believe that an interim order may be issued allowing the petitioner to accompany her father to Sabarimala for”darshan“on August 23,” the Supreme Court said after hearing the case.
