Mizoram’s government has extended the partial lockdown in the area of Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) and certain COVID-related restrictions in other parts of the state until Sept. 18, with some easing of curbs, an official said Sunday.
An injunction regarding the COVID curbs was issued because the restrictions, imposed on Aug. 20, were in effect until Saturday, PTI reported.
Meanwhile, Israel said Sunday it would relaunch a pilot program granting entry to tourist groups from select countries as the daily rate of coronavirus cases dropped ahead of the Jewish High Holidays.
A statement from the tourism ministry said the program, which applies to groups of 5 to 30 tourists, would start again on September 19.
But visitors from countries labeled “red” by Israel based on the rate of viral transmission will still be barred, AFP reported.
