The Collegium of the Supreme Court has approved the proposal for the appointment of six additional judges of the Karnataka High Court as permanent judges.
The Collegium led by Chief Justice N.V. Ramana agreed to the proposal in a meeting on August 17, 2021, and the statement was uploaded on the supreme court website on Thursday.
The judges made permanent are the judges Neranahalli Srinivasan Sanjay Gowda, Jyoti Mulimani, Nataraj Rangaswamy, Hemant Chandangoudar, Pradeep Singh Yerur and Maheshan Nagaprasanna.
The Collegium also approved the proposal to appoint Judge Kausik Chanda, Additional Judge of the Supreme Court of Calcutta, as a permanent judge.
In addition to NV Ramana, judges UU Lalit and AM Khanwilkar are part of the three-member Collegium that makes decisions about the judges of the Supreme Court.
