India and the US are closely monitoring Pakistan’s actions in Afghanistan, Foreign Minister Harsh Vardhan Shringla said Friday, PTI news agency reported.
In India’s limited involvement with the Taliban, the new Afghan rulers have indicated that they would be reasonable in addressing New Delhi’s concerns, the foreign minister added.
“Obviously, like us, they are also looking closely and we need to take a close look at Pakistan’s actions,” he told a group of Indian reporters at the end of his three-day official visit to Washington DC, adding that the US will adopt a wait-and-see policy with regard to the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
The Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in a stunning power struggle and the fall of Kabul on August 15.
