This week, the Dutch government announced plans to impose new restrictions on the export of semiconductor technology to China to protect national security.
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said on Thursday that China firmly opposed the restrictions as a means “to intervene and limit normal economic and trade exchanges between Chinese and Dutch companies.”
The US had imposed a slew of export restrictions late last year, including a measure to cut China off certain semiconductor chips made anywhere in the world using US equipment.
