iPad users, download this update as soon as possible
Apple has reported the problem with the software and now the update seems to solve the problem.
Apple users are getting a new security update this week that the company wants everyone to update right away. This update is intended for iPad users who have the iPadOS platform on their device.
The iPadOS 16.3.1 update is a minor update that basically provides important bug fixes and security updates for your iPad as the update note states for iPad users.
In addition to iPadOS, iPhone users also got a similar update earlier this week with the iOS 16.3.1 version. According to the details on Apple’s support page, the update was released on February 13.
The iPadOS 16.3.1 has a download size of 149 MB and is supported on iPad models from iPad Air 3rd generation, iPad 5th generation, iPad Pro models and even the 5th generation iPad mini. As far as the iPhone users are concerned, anyone with the iPhone 8 model or later should use the iOS 16.3.1 update immediately to avoid any mishaps with their device.
The security issue affected both the kernel and the Apple Webkit application. Apple explains that the vulnerability could cause an app to execute arbitrary code. When it comes to the WebKit, the concerns are greater, as Apple believes that the problem related to the WebKit may have been actively exploited.
How to install iPadOS 16.3.1 on iPad
– Open Settings on iPad
– Click on General
– Tap Security update
– Refresh the page to see if your iPad has the iPadOS 16.3.1 version
– Install iPadOS 16.3.1 and restart the iPad
Apple acknowledged the people who alerted the company to the security risks and also credited Google’s Project Zero team as continuing to address rampant cybersecurity issues across platforms.
