Pixel tablet doesn’t have many accessories
Google launched its first tablet in the Pixel range, but only with a docking station.
Google launched its first Pixel tablet this year, but the product only recently went on sale. The Android tablet also has a docking station, which makes it a different product from most of the tablets available in the market.
But unlike most products, Google didn’t talk about other accessories for the Pixel Tablet like a stylus or a keyboard. That doesn’t mean the company won’t bring these accessories later. And according to new reports, Google may already be working on a stylus and keyboard for the Pixel Tablet.
The details of this rumored product have been spotted on a Retail Demo app, suggesting that the new products could be in the pipeline and launch later this year. The app even shows the name of the products, with the keyboard labeled Keyboard for Pixel Tablet and Pen For Pixel Tablet in reference to the stylus.
However, the app has no images of these products, suggesting that Google could even link them to the next Pixel tablet. Google has added the traces of these products to the Demo app, which means it should be shown to consumers in the store, but if that’s the case, Google would have shown it with the Pixel tablet last month at the I/O 2023 keynote, which didn’t happen.
The Pixel tablet does have stylus support, which has become apparent with the review of the tablet coming out this week. Some of them even used third party pens on the Pixel tablet and to their surprise it worked.
The Apple Pencil didn’t work at all, which isn’t a big shock. Apple has the Pencil and Magic Keyboard for the iPads and they sell in large numbers. If Google is serious about its Pixel tablet, the docking station won’t help its business to build an ecosystem, and this is where the accessories spotted in the Demo app should hit the market.
