Pixel Fold screens have a quality problem
The recently launched Pixel Fold device has made its way to the buyers who are clearly not satisfied with the premium device.
Google recently launched the Pixel Fold and all eyes were curious to see how the new foldable device holds up in real life.
Early indications suggested that the Pixel Fold was built to handle rough use, but now many owners are seeing the Pixel Fold screen break within a few days of use. The display quality is certainly suspect on the Pixel Fold and some of the complaints include minor dents in the screen, even within a few days of purchasing the foldable device.
Thankfully, the screen is responsive, meaning the dents are a sign of the quality Google used to make the phone. Another user stated that he noticed a pink line on the Pixel Fold’s inner screen, which is also not a good sign for any device.
Google seems to be aware of the issue and has reportedly suggested these users contact their support team who can investigate the matter. Google does provide extended support for the Pixel Fold, and with these issues in the first few days of purchase, customers can take advantage of the warranty benefits as long as the damage isn’t related to physical issues.
Most people were concerned about the quality of the Pixel Fold when it launched this year, just like every other first-generation foldable device we’ve seen on the market. Samsung was no different with the screen durability of the Galaxy Z Fold model when it was launched by the company as the first foldable device.
Reviews of the Pixel Fold have not indicated that the screen is fragile, but the consumer use case is usually different from those testing these products. We hope that Google takes note of all these issues, provides proper support for a $1799 device, and fixes them as soon as possible.
