Raipur:
A woman had to deliver her baby to the roadside after the ambulance taking her to the nearest city hospital ran out of diesel in the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
In the video of the incident from Banauli in the Shahnagar area of the district, some health workers accompanying the woman are seen helping her as she delivers the baby on a cloth sheet to the rocky ground. The ambulance is parked next to them, the doors open and the lights are on.
The tribal woman, identified only as Reshma, was taken to Shahnagar Community Health Center in Dial 108 ambulance – on a contract basis as part of a government plan.
In the middle of the night, the vehicle stopped and the driver told the family that the fuel had run out.
