WhatsApp releases a section of saved messages
Users are in control of the conversation and can choose to “remember” the message at any time, after which it will disappear from the chat forever.
WhatsApp Update: Meta’s instant messaging application, WhatsApp, is reportedly releasing a saved messages section in chat info for some beta testers. This feature can be used to prevent messages from disappearing so they can last forever for everyone in the chat
The message retention feature doesn’t automatically delete messages from the chat and everyone in the conversation can still see them. will disappear from the chat forever.
“The feature was under development for a long time, but after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23. WABetaInfo reported.
According to the report, a new section called “saved messages” will appear in the chat info, in case the feature is available for your WhatsApp account. When someone saves a disappearing message, it will no longer disappear from chat after it expires, but everyone still has control over those messages as they can be deleted at any time.
This section displays all saved messages so that anyone in the conversation can easily find them in the future. Please note that it is not possible to keep a disappearing message as this feature will be available in the future.
Additionally, when it will be possible to prevent messages from disappearing, the ability to star messages and the starred messages section within chat info will be removed for disappearing chats, the report said.
The Saved Messages section is available to some beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Play Store and it will roll out to even more people in the coming days.
