Bareilly, U.P.:
A 14-year-old girl committed suicide after a private school here refused her to take an exam for non-payment of school fees, family members said.
Superintendent of Police (City) Rahul Bhati said an investigation has been ordered based on a complaint filed by the family members.
“My daughter was in ninth grade at a local private school. I was unable to pay her school fees due to financial difficulties,” the girl’s father, Ashok Kumar, a resident of Baradari, said in his complaint.
Kumar claimed that he had searched for some time to submit the school fees, but the school administration would not have allowed her daughter to take the exam on Friday.
He said his daughter was injured and allegedly hanged herself after returning home.
