Randy “R Dub!” Williams, a late-night “slow jams” DJ from San Diego, has created a country called “Slowjamastan” and has also proclaimed himself the sultan of this micronation.
According to NewsMadura, Williams, a nighttime broadcaster, has spent his life trying to visit every country in the world. With only one UN-recognized country left to visit, he decided to buy an 11.07-acre piece of empty, barren land in the California desert to build a new “land,” named after his radio show.
The leader of this newly formed country, Mr. Williams, calls it “the United Territories of the Sovereign Nation of the People’s Republic of Slowjastan”.
Despite the fact that all the country’s borders are on US territory, the Sultan of Slowjamastan formally declared the country’s independence from the US on December 1, 2021 at 12:26 PM, according to the official websites.
The new outlet further reported that the Republic of Slowjastan claims even more than 500 registered citizens, while another 4,500 are reportedly paroled or in line for citizenship.
