Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a poll in Chumoukedima district on Friday to campaign for the February 27 parliamentary elections in Nagaland, a top BJP leader said today.
Prime Minister Modi will address a meeting of the BJP-NDPP, the only two parties to have entered into a pre-poll alliance.
Announcing Prime Minister Modi’s visit, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that visits by key BJP leaders to the election-tied state show the party’s concern over the future of Nagaland and its relationship with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah addressed election rallies in Nagaland last week.
The BJP-NDPP alliance will compete for all seats in the 60-member House.
