New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka on Monday to inaugurate the ‘India Energy Week 2023’ in Bengaluru during which he will launch E20 fuel, a blend of 20 percent ethanol with petrol, and the HAL helicopter factory in Tumakuru on the nation will dedicate. .

During the visit, he will also lay the foundation stone of several development initiatives. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s third visit to the poll-tied state in less than a month.

The Prime Minister had visited Hubballi on January 12, where he opened a national youth festival and organized a massive roadshow, and later on January 19, he was in Yadgiri and Kalaburagi districts, trying to win over voters by presenting development and social welfare programs and giving the ruling BJP a launching pad ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for April-May.

Prime Minister Modi will usher in India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru, to be held from February 6 to 8, aiming to showcase India’s rising prowess as an energy transition powerhouse.

The event is expected to bring together leaders from the traditional and non-traditional energy industry, governments and academia to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by a responsible energy transition, according to an official release.

More than 30 ministers from around the world will attend, the release said, adding that more than 30,000 delegates, 1,000 exhibitors and 500 speakers will gather to discuss the challenges and opportunities of India’s energy future.

During the program, Prime Minister Modi will participate in a roundtable interaction with global oil and gas CEOs. He will also launch several initiatives in the field of green energy.

In line with the ethanol blending roadmap, the premier will launch E20 fuel at 84 oil marketing company outlets in 11 states/UTs.

E20 is a blend of 20 percent ethanol with gasoline, the release said, adding that the government is aiming for a full 20 percent ethanol blending by 2025, and oil marketing companies are setting up 2G-3G ethanol plants that will facilitate progress.

Prime Minister Modi will also flag the ‘Green Mobility Rally’, a rally in which vehicles powered by green energy sources will participate and which is expected to help create public awareness for green fuels.

The Prime Minister will also launch the uniforms under Indian Oil’s ‘Unbottled’ initiative. With a vision to phase out single-use plastics, Indian Oil has adopted uniforms for store associates and LPG delivery drivers made from recycled polyester (rPET) and cotton.

He will also inaugurate the twin cooktop model of Indian Oil’s indoor solar cooking system and mark its commercial rollout.

Later around 3:30 PM, Prime Minister Modi will be in Tumakuru to inaugurate the HAL Helicopter Factory to the country.

The foundation stone was also laid by the Prime Minister in 2016. It is a special helicopter factory in the green that will improve the helicopter building capacity and ecosystem.

This helicopter factory is the largest helicopter factory in Asia and will initially produce the Light Utility Helicopters (LUH).

The factory will be expanded to produce other helicopters such as Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Indian Multirole Helicopter (IMRH), as well as repair and overhaul of LCH, LUH, Civil ALH and IMRH in the future. The plant also has the potential to export civilian LUHs in the future.

This facility will enable India to meet its entire requirement for helicopters domestically and will achieve the distinction of enabling self-sufficiency in the design, development and manufacture of helicopters in India.

Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of Tumakuru Industrial Township. Under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program, the development of the industrial township spread over 8,484 acres in three phases in Tumakuru has been included as part of the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones of two Jal Jeevan Mission projects in Tiptur and Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumakuru.
