Heavy rainfall hit parts of the national capital on Thursday with a minimum temperature of 27.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below the seasonal average.
Flooding has also been reported in various parts of Delhi.
The weather service has also issued an ‘orange’ alert in the city.
The IMD uses four color codes for weather warnings: “green” (no action required), “yellow” (watch and stay informed), “orange” (be prepared), and “red” (take action).
Light to moderate rain is expected in the city during the day, according to the weather service.
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 114 (moderate category) at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
