A private company debt collection agency was reportedly looted for more than Rs 10 lakh on Thursday by three unidentified gunmen on a stretch of road in Noida in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The Sector 39 local police station in charge has been suspended following the incident that happened in Sector 106 around 4pm, she added.
“The debt collector was on a motorcycle when he was taken over by the attackers, who forcibly took the money from him,” said senior law and order police officer Love Kumar.
“The exact amount of the looted money is yet to be calculated by the agent and the company, but after an initial estimate, they put the figure somewhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh,” he told reporters.
