Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will begin her pre-budget meetings from Monday, starting with industry leaders and experts on infrastructure and climate change.
The meetings will be held virtually by Ms. Sitharaman, seeking suggestions for the 2023-24 budget from stakeholders.
“Secretary of the Treasury Smt. @nsitharaman will hold her 1st #PreBudget2023 consultation with the captains of Industry and experts of #Infrastructure and #ClimateChange in two groups, tomorrow, November 21, 2022, in the morning and afternoon,” the Ministry of Finance said in a tweet.
On November 22, the minister of agriculture and agro-processing industry will meet representatives of the financial sector and the capital market.
She will also meet representatives from the service sector and trade organizations on November 24, as well as experts from the social sector, including health, education, water and sanitation.
The pre-budget meetings with the union representatives and economists are scheduled for November 28.
The participants will make suggestions for the 2023-24 budget, which will be presented to Parliament by the Minister of Finance on 1 February.
