Few predators are as feared and hated as snakes. However, their unique and amazing abilities often make them fascinating creatures. Now a video showing the hilarious antics of a reptile has made social media users laugh out loud.
Shared on Twitter by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan, the short video shows a snake grabbing a rubber slipper and slipping away with it while holding its head up. “I wonder what this snake is going to do to that guy. He has no legs. Unknown location,” Mr. Kaswan wrote in the post’s caption.

The video shows how, after a group of people saw the snake approaching their home off-camera, one of them decided to throw their pink rubber slipper at it. The reptile immediately grabs the footwear in its mouth and makes a hasty exit with its head held high.
The video immediately took the internet by storm. Mr Kaswan shared the clip on Thursday evening and it has since garnered over 229,000 views and more than 7,200 likes.
In the comments section, some users came up with assumptions about the snake’s action, while others came up with hilarious responses.

“I think the taste or smell of rubber slippers, I’ve seen it a few times. Maybe it feels like it was its prey!” wrote a user. “Cinderella – The Serpentine Edition,” said another.
A third user wrote, “It’s amazing… it’s possible the snake thinks it’s prey.” A fourth explained: “Looks like he’s building something of his own, maybe a fortress he seems very happy with, dancing away like that, high in the air, almost prancing, which is very hard to do without prancing legs .” “Fast and furious,” wrote another.
