Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend three pivotal working sessions at the G20 summit in Bali

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to hold bilateral talks with Britain’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron at the 17th G20 summit to be held in Bali on November 15-16. Mr Modi is leaving for the Indonesian city today.
According to sources, the Indian prime minister will hold talks with his British counterpart and the French president on Nov. 16, in addition to attending a meeting with host country Indonesia.
According to Indian Foreign Minister Vinay Kwatra, Mr Modi will attend three pivotal work sessions on food and energy security, digital transformation and health during his nearly 45-hour stay in Indonesia.
The Bali summit is also important as Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo will formally hand over the G20 presidency to Mr Modi for next year’s meeting. At the Bali summit, Prime Minister Modi will invite all G20 leaders to the September 2023 summit in India.
India will assume the presidency of the G20 for a year from December 1, 2022.
A visit to the mangrove forest, along with the other G20 leaders, and a speech to the Indian community are on Mr Modi’s agenda for 15 November.
Commenting on the G20 communiqué, India’s foreign minister said the G20 communiqué is by consensus and is the culmination of years of meetings and communication. “The communiqué remains under discussion,” he added.
