Police on Tuesday said they have busted a drug racket in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, arresting nine people and recovering heroin worth lakhs of rupees.
“Continuing its efforts to eradicate the threat of drugs from society, in a major breakthrough, police in Baramulla arrested nine drug smugglers and found 1.78 kg of heroin-like substance along with cash amounting to Rs 69.20 lakh from the Nambla, Isham and Bandi Uri areas. ”, said a police spokesperson.
He said the seizure was a major blow to the district’s drug trafficking network.
