HAPPY DATA PRIVACY DAY 2023: People are driven to enter the digital world, but with practically everything available online, securing data is a top priority for everyone
DATA PRIVACY DAY 2023: In recent years, the digital world has experienced tremendous growth that was hard to imagine two decades ago. People are driven to enter the digital world, be it for online shopping or digital payments. However, with practically everything available online and easily accessible with a few clicks, securing data is a top priority for everyone.
To use most online services, you need to provide basic information such as name, address and sometimes even bank details. However, we need to rethink what we disclose about ourselves, when and where we share it, and with whom as a result of our growing reliance on digital technologies to handle every aspect of life. Failure to protect one’s privacy can lead to exploitation in addition to financial losses.
Data Privacy Day is celebrated today, January 28, to raise awareness of the value of online privacy, which has been declared a fundamental right of a citizen. The Council of Europe decided on April 26, 2006 to create a Data Protection Day and announced that this day will be celebrated every year on January 28, the day when the Council of Europe’s data protection convention, known as as “Convention 108”, Data Protection Day is now celebrated worldwide and is known as Privacy Day outside Europe.
