Chief Justice of Singapore Sundaresh Menon sat on the bench of the Supreme Court of India headed by CJI DY Chandrachud on Friday.
Judge Menon, who has been Singapore’s fourth Chief Justice since 2012, is in India to take part as chief guest at a function to be held Saturday to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the Supreme Court’s establishment.
The Chief Justice of Singapore will deliver a lecture on the “role of the judiciary in a changing world” at the event, with a welcome address from Judge SK Kaul and a speech from the Chief Justice of India.
The Supreme Court of India came into existence on January 28, 1950, two days after India became a Republic.
