The suspects, Poonam and Deepak, have told the police that they killed Anjan Das in June
New Delhi:
Delhi Police have revealed gruesome details of the murder in Pandav Nagar, East Delhi. Anjan Das was killed in June, allegedly by his wife and stepson, in a manner eerily similar to Shraddha Walkar’s murder.
Here are 5 facts about this chilling crime
The police have said that the accused Poonam was furious after Das sold her jewelery and sent the money to his first wife. She came up with the murder plan with Deepak, her son from a previous marriage. Deepak has told the police that he agreed because Das allegedly harassed his wife.
The suspects have told police that they killed Das in June. They first spiked his drink and killed him with a dagger when he was unconscious, police said. They allow the body to drain blood at night.
In the morning, they cut the body into 10 pieces, put them in plastic bags and kept them in the fridge, the suspects have told police.
In the following days, they threw the pieces away. Police have so far found six pieces. CCTV cameras in the area captured Poonam and Deepak during these visits.
The suspects told police they later cleaned the house and refrigerator to remove any stench. They also told neighbors that Das had just left the house without notifying anyone, police said.
