Beijing:
The city of Beijing reports 316 new local COVID cases during the 3 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, a city official said at a briefing.
The Chinese capital is facing the most complex and severe COVID management situation since the start of the pandemic, said Liu Xiaofeng, the deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
People traveling to Beijing will have to take tests daily for the first three days of their stay and wait for the results before they are allowed to leave their homes or accommodation, city government spokesman Xu Hejian told the same briefing.
The new rules take effect on Tuesday.
