Bangalore:
Bengaluru police today arrested a trader at the capital’s weekly ‘thief market’ (Chor Bazaar) for misconduct with a stranger.
YouTuber Pedro Mota, a Dutchman who has traveled through India, was assaulted yesterday by a local trader near Chickpet in Bengaluru while recording a video blog.
A video released by the Bengaluru Police, which was recorded on Pedro Mota’s recording device, shows the YouTuber smiling while taking a selfie video in the market when a man objects to his recording and grabs his hand. The Dutch man can be seen repeatedly and asks him to let go. He frees himself in a few seconds and runs away from the spot.
The police have arrested the trafficker, identified as Navab Hayath Sharif, and have filed a case against him under Section 92 of the Karnataka Police Act, which prescribes penalties for “certain street offenses and disturbances”.
