The supervisor was not present at the time of the incident.
A video of a shocking incident at a kindergarten in Bengaluru is gaining traction on social media. The clip, captured by CCTV installed in the school, shows a group of unattended toddlers being beaten up by a boy in the play area. It further shows an employee who briefly enters the room, but leaves after picking up one of the toddlers.
The maid left eight children alone, as shown in the 140-second video footage posted by the Twitter account “Citizens Movement, East Bengaluru”, and immediately afterwards a boy began beating a smaller child. After a short time, the boy slaps the child again and continues to hit her.
The video was posted with a caption that read, “We received a disturbing video of a kindergarten where toddlers are left unattended in a locked room. An older boy is repeatedly seen beating a younger one. The name of the school is Tenderfoot, Chikkalasandra , Bengaluru (560061). Please don’t send your child there!”
The video has caused a huge reaction from people using social media. There are countless responses from different users.
“First the janitor should be sued. Then the school board. Later that boy should be sent to a therapist. God! I can’t watch this,” said one user.
“That boy’s parents need to get help.” It’s all about educating and monitoring a child’s behavior. Parents have many responsibilities,” another user wrote.
“All state governments should make it mandatory for ‘nurseries’ or play schools to share live camera footage of the classrooms and toilets with their parents in order to obtain a permit to open such schools. This will deter them from leaving the child unattended leave, and the supervisor will be in fear,” said a third user on the video.
