Keshpur, West Bengal:
TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Saturday denounced the Center for sending central teams to West Bengal, saying there are attempts to defame the state government as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had not bowed to it.
He also called the state BJP leaders “anti-Bengali” as they have also “played a role in stopping the flow of money” to the state.
“People here know how the BJP-led central government cut off funds for Bengal. It is doing this out of revenge because the party failed to win the parliamentary elections in 2021,” he said, addressing a mega rally in Keshpur.
Abhishek Banerjee said the TMC leadership would never surrender to the “corrupt” BJP regime.
“Mamata Banerjee has never bowed her head to these dishonest BJP politicians, and she never will. She has the love and affection of the people, and they will give the answer to the injustice of the BJP.
“BJP leaders send central teams… However, they couldn’t find a single case of fraud. The teams were sent to defame the people of the state,” he claimed.
TMC’s general secretary said Bangladeshi BJP leaders also support the center, claiming that they are the ones who told the Union government that they are not releasing money meant for the people of the state.
“There is no place for these anti-Bengali leaders in our state,” he said.
