iCloud plans go up for iPhone users
The new prices have already taken effect and people will have to pay extra for the cloud storage on Apple.
Apple iCloud users in some countries will have to pay more for their cloud plans. The company this week raised iCloud subscription prices in multiple countries, including the UK, UAE, and South Africa.
iCloud prices have most likely increased due to the fluctuating value of the currency in these regions, and people will have to bear that increase with higher spending on their iCloud plans. Here is the full list of countries where Apple iCloud prices have increased:
– UK
– Poland
– Romania
– Saudi Arabia
– South Africa
– Sweden
– Turkey
– UAE
-Tanzania
iCloud prices in the UK are up 25 percent, as reported by 9to5Mac. So the basic 50GB data plan that was priced at £0.79 now comes in at £0.99 per month.
Similarly, the highest iCloud plan in the region costs £8.99 per month, which was previously available for £6.99 per month. Interestingly, the price review has been made for those on the standalone iCloud plans. Anyone who signs up for the Apple One bundle will continue to get the same price.
Apple offers all its users 5 GB of cloud storage on iCloud for free, which is clearly not enough in this day and age. By comparison, Google gives you 15GB of storage, which includes Photos, Gmail, and Drive. Apple iCloud plans start with 50 GB of data and turn out to be more expensive than what you would pay for Drive storage. In countries like India, Google Drive gives you 100 GB of storage for Rs 130 per month. For Apple users, you have the iCloud+ service which costs Rs 75 per month for 50 GB of data, rising to Rs 740 per month if you need 2 TB of iCloud storage.
