The current government in the country does not believe in the constitution, Rakesh Tikait claimed.
Nagpur:
Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said on Wednesday that agitation and people’s participation in it will be important in the coming years to protect the rights of people, their land and their farms.
He was speaking at a farmers’ meeting organized by the Bahujan Sangharsh Samiti in Nagpur.
“Dalit” is not a caste group, but all people who live in villages and work in the fields are Dalits, he said.
All the people who work on the farms are “Bahujan,” he added.
The current government in the country does not believe in the constitution, he claimed.
Elected governments were overthrown in both Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, he said.
Speaking of the turmoil at Delhi’s borders against the new agricultural laws, he said it felt like “the government was a conspirator”. Allegations of insulting the tricolor were leveled against farmers and all these conspiracies were “hatched in Nagpur,” he said, without citing any organization.
There were also attempts to portray the Sikh community as Khalistanis, he claimed.
But people understood what the truth was, he added.
