The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organizing a national conclave called ‘Mann Ki Baat @100’ to celebrate the 100 episodes of the program which will be graced by about 100 esteemed citizens from different parts of the country named by Prime Minister in the previous episodes.
“Since its inception on 3 October 2014, ‘Mann ki Baat’ has become a national tradition, with the Prime Minister addressing the nation every month and inspiring millions to join India’s development journey. Since then, it has struck a chord with the citizens of India who have contacted their Pradhan Sevak each month and shared their achievements, fears, happiness and proud moments as well as suggestions for a New India,” BJP said in a statement.
The conclave will be hosted by Prasar Bharati at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital. The inaugural session of the conclave will be graced by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar in the presence of Union Minister Anurag Thakur.
About 100 esteemed citizens from different parts of the country, whose names have been mentioned by the Prime Minister in the previous episodes of “Mann Ki Baat”, also attend the event.
According to the statement, these are people whose outstanding contribution to nation-building has been praised by the Prime Minister in his monthly broadcast. Among the participants are people who work in various fields such as the promotion of traditional arts, culture and crafts, environmental protection and those who have tirelessly supported the nation during Covid times, those who support underprivileged citizens, those who have provided innovative solutions to improve the challenges faced by society etc.
These esteemed guests will bring several unique products with the ancient Kaavi paintings from Goa state, the Etikoppaka wooden toy craft from Andhra Pradesh, Pattachitra paintings made on stone from Odisha and products made from banana stem fibers by the self-help group in Lakhimpur Kheri, UP.
During the inaugural session, the vice president will also release two books. A coffee table book on ‘Mann Ki Baat@100’ highlighting the programme’s journey and how it led to the start of a new era in direct communication between the Prime Minister and citizens. The second book, ‘Collective Spirit, Concrete Action’ by Shri, SS Vempati, former CEO of Prasar Bharati documents the fascinating facets of PM Modi’s ongoing conversations with the world’s largest democracy, focusing on social, economic, environmental, cultural, health and fitness issues that resonate with the heart of our nation, the statement read.
The inaugural session will be followed by four sessions highlighting the diverse themes of the Prime Minister’s interactions during Mann Ki Baat.
Each session is facilitated by an eminent panel. The sessions will highlight the transformative impact Mann Ki Baat has catalyzed across industries across India, effectively connecting citizens directly with the Prime Minister and empowering them to become agents of change.
The first session is all about ‘Nari Shakti’.
“The women of this country have always excelled in various fields and have led the masses and paved the way for other women to follow. The government sees women-led development as a central dimension of India’s progress and a need to make India Numerous wellness programs have been launched in the past nine years paving the way to empower women and lead them in India’s development journey,” the statement said.
It added: “Focusing on these rules, the discussion will be moderated by renowned anchor and host, Richa Anirudh and enriched by panellists, Kiran Bedi, IPS (retired) and former lieutenant governor, Puducherry, Deepa Malik, athlete, Dhimant Parekh, Founder and CEO, The Better India, RJ Nitin, Raveena Tandon, actress, Nikhat Zareen, boxer and Poorna Malavath, mountaineer Poorna Malavath, the world’s youngest girl who climbed Mount Everest in 2014, completed the seven peaks of mountaineering in 2022. The Prime Minister praised the mountaineer from Telangana during his Mann Ki Baat in June 2022”.
The second session is dedicated to ‘Virasat Ka Uthan’.
“Being proud of our heritage and legacy has remained an important vision of the Prime Minister during the Amrit Kaal. Thanks to the efforts of the Prime Minister, a new awareness of our art and culture has emerged in our country, and a new consciousness is awakening The panelists discussing India’s golden past and “New India” include Ricky Kej, Music Composer and Environmentalist, Jagat Kinkhabwala, Conservationist, Siddharth Kannan, TV and Radio Host, Rochamliana, Environmentalist, Palki Sharma, Journalist and Neelesh Misra, storyteller as moderator,” it stated.
The statement added: “Jagat Kinkhabwala and Rochamliana have been commended by the Prime Minister for their environmental conservation efforts. The Prime Minister spoke about the book and the efforts for the ‘Save the Sparrows’ campaign launched by Jagat Kinkhabwala in May 2017 He also spoke about the Save Chitte Lui Action Plan, an initiative by Rochamliana to restore Mizoram’s Chite River by June 2022”.
The third session on ‘Jan Samvad Se Atmanirbharta’ will be moderated by Sradha Sharma, a celebrated Indian entrepreneur.
The government stated, “The idea of Atmanirbhar Bharat has ignited a new spark of self-confidence in every Indian. The Prime Minister has outlined five pillars for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat: Economy, Infrastructure, System, Vibrant Demography and Demand. All pillars work together to boost our economy strong and resilient. The importance of ‘Atmanirbharta’ will be discussed by Sanjeev Bhikchandani, entrepreneur, RJ Raunac, Padma Shri Awardee TV Mohandas Pai, Ravi Kumar Narra, entrepreneur and policy maker and Mohd. Abbas Bhat, head of Dal Lake lotus stem producer The Prime Minister in March 2023 praised the efforts of Dal Lake lotus stem producer, which has created employment for many farmers by exporting food products made from lotus stem.
The last session before the farewell session is all about ‘Ahwan Se Jan Andolan’.
The statement added: “‘Mann ki Baat’ has been a platform from which several important campaigns have emerged. From the very first ‘Mann ki Baat’, when the Prime Minister had given Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’s clarion call, the addresses have inspired the people again and again to take action on important issues. To discuss various such campaigns, the session will be moderated by RJ Sharad and will feature speakers like Aamir Khan, actor, Dr. Shashank R. Joshi, endocrinologist and diabetologist, Deepmala Pandey, School Principal, Karishma Mehta, Writer and Photographer and Prof. Najma Akhtar, Educationist and Administrator Deepmala Pandey’s “One Teacher, One Call” initiative for children with special needs was appreciated by Prime Minister in Mann Ki Baat in September 2021.”
The farewell session of the event will be graced by Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Anurag Singh Thakur. Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary will also attend the session.
A commemorative stamp and coin on 100 episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ will be unveiled to mark this momentous event at the farewell session.
