Sensex Today: Indian benchmark indices stabilized on Thursday as investors assessed fourth-quarter earnings and global signals. The S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 59,595, up 27 points, or 0.05 percent, in early deals, while the Nifty50 remained above 17,600.
Separately, Titan, Ultratech Cement, Asian Paints, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv, ITC and M&M were the large caps that lifted the benchmarks.
Meanwhile, in the broader market, BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices rose 0.03 percent and 0.19 percent, respectively.
Among stocks, ICICI Securities plummeted 5 percent after the company reported a 22.8 percent year-on-year drop in consolidated profit to Rs 262.7 crore for the quarter ending March FY23.
On the other hand, Mastek shares rose 3.7 percent as the IT services company posted sequential growth of 13.07 percent in consolidated profit at Rs 72.6 crore for the March FY23 quarter. Revenue for the quarter grew 7.7 percent QoQ to Rs 709.2 crore with growth across all businesses.
Aside from that, shares of Tata Communications rose 1 percent. The company registered a year-on-year drop of 10.7 percent in its consolidated profit to Rs 326 crore for Q4FY23. Revenue for the quarter grew 7.2 percent year-on-year to Rs 4,569 crore.
In terms of sectors, the Nifty Pharma index fell 0.37 percent, while the Nifty Auto index rose 0.2 percent. All other indices were flat on either side.
