Gasoline and Diesel Tariff Today: Petrol tariffs have fallen to Rs 99.47 per liter in Chennai
Gasoline, Diesel Price Today: Petrol price in the capital of Tamil Nadu – Chennai was cut to 99.47 rupees per liter on Saturday, August 14, a day after the Tamil Nadu government announced a 3 rupee tax cut on the fuel, according to data from the Indian Oil Corporation. The diesel price in the city remained unchanged at record high and is sold at Rs 94.39 per litre. On Friday, August 13, Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, the finance minister of Tamil Nadu, announced tax cuts as he presented the revised budget for 2021-22 to the General Assembly.
However, fuel rates remained unchanged for the 28th consecutive day in the country’s other metro cities. In the national capital, petrol prices remained stable at Rs 101.84 per liter and diesel prices remained unchanged at Rs 89.87 per litre. Of the four metro cities, petrol and diesel prices are highest in Mumbai, according to the state-run oil refinery. Fuel rates vary from country to country due to value added tax (VAT).

State-run oil refineries such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel tariffs daily, taking into account crude oil prices in international markets and exchange rates of the rupee and dollar. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices will be implemented daily from 6am.
On Friday, August 13, the Brent crude future, the global oil benchmark, fell 0.13 percent to $71.22 a barrel. The rupee reversed its losses during the day and settled almost flat to 72.24 against the US dollar following the rally in domestic stocks.
