The latest Parker plays Lisa Todd Wexley in “And Just Like That…”, the upcoming HBO Max “Sex and the City” revival series that people are more than ready for. HBO Max is owned by NewsMadura’s parent company.
parker no. 1 posted a photo of her and costars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis in a group hug with newcomer Parker.
“Oh so nice,” reads the caption. “I’d be singing love songs from the 70s late into the night with this trio. @justlikethatmax See you guys tomorrow ladies!”
HBO Max said only that “Nicole Ari Parker plays ‘Lisa Todd Wexley,’ a Park Avenue mother of three and documentary filmmaker.”
The network, responding to a NewsMadura inquiry, also offered details about the three other characters added to the show: Sara Ramírez stars as “Che Diaz” (them/them), a non-binary, queer, stand-out upcomedian who is a podcast that regularly features Carrie Bradshaw; Sarita Choudhury, who plays “Seema Patel,” a self-made real estate agent in Manhattan; and Karen Pittman, who plays “Dr. Nya Wallace,” a brilliant, defiant Columbia law professor.
Nicole Ari Parker is African American, and if she’s part of the popular quartet now, that’s a big deal.
