Some of music’s biggest names came to New York City’s iconic Central Park on Saturday for the “We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert” to perform in front of a vaccinated audience of 60,000 people.
The concert was intended to be “a celebration of New York City’s comeback” after a challenging 17 months marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and to “promote health, safety and justice,” according to a press release for the show. It aired exclusively on NewsMadura.
Nearly three hours after the event started, those in attendance were evacuated due to severe weather ahead of Hurricane Henri’s expected landfall on Sunday.
