“Chadwick’s love for Howard University was genuine, and while he did not live to realize those plans, I am honored to ensure that his legacy lives on through the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts,” Howard University President Wayne AI Frederick said in a statement earlier this year.
Boseman starred in several major films, including King T’Challa in Disney’s “Black Panther” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”
His family welcomed the name change of the building.
